On Monday, we observed Veterans Day. I was honored to join members of our community at Bill Barber Memorial Park to honor our troops, past and present. Our servicemembers put their lives on the line to keep us safe. It is our solemn duty to make sure we take care of them and their families when they complete their service to our country.
As a UC Irvine professor, I’ve witnessed firsthand how the escalating student-debt crisis and the rising sticker price of college affect students in our district. I went to Washington ready to engage in discussions on the barriers facing those who want to pursue higher education and to present concrete solutions to remove those roadblocks.
When I came to Washington, I promised to take the voices of Orange County residents with me. That’s why I hosted dozens of community events during the August district work period—to hear from people like you, so that I can advocate for the issues our community values.
