Dear friend,
Congressional hearings are about getting answers for families about the issues that matter most to them. Right now, a major oil leak off our coast threatens Orange County communities. This pollution puts our health, our businesses, and our environment at risk.
There must be accountability for this major oil leak. As federal investigators continue to gather information about how and why this disaster occurred, it’s critical we understand the burden it’s placing on Orange County families.
As Chair of the House Natural Resources Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, I’m hosting an official Congressional hearing right here in Orange County about how the oil leak is hurting our community. This event will be open to the public, so Orange County families can speak directly with lawmakers and get information.
Details below:
WHAT: “Southern California Oil Leak: Investigating the Immediate Effects on Communities, Businesses, and the Environment,” a joint hearing by the House Natural Resources Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations and the House Natural Resources Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources
WHEN: Monday, October 18th at 9 AM PT
WHERE: This event will be livestreamed on YouTube and Facebook.
I hope you will be able to join us on Monday.
