IRVINE—On Thursday, August 18, Congresswoman Katie Porter (D-CA), U.S. Interior Secretary Deb Haaland, Bureau of Reclamation Commissioner Camille Calimlim Touton, and other federal, state, and local leaders will host a press conference on new efforts to protect families from California’s ongoing megadrought. Porter, Haaland, and Touton will announce reallocated federal dollars that will support water recycling and address worsening drought conditions in basins Orange County families depend on for clean drinking water, including the Colorado River.
