Rep. Porter Seeks Wounded Warrior Fellow for Irvine Office

Fellow will help military and veteran constituents navigate federal, state, and local agencies

IRVINE – Congresswoman Katie Porter (CA-45) is hiring a wounded or disabled veteran for a two-year paid fellowship in her Irvine office. The fellow will work with military and veteran constituents to handle veteran-related casework and serve as a liaison between veterans in the 45th District and federal, state, and local agencies.

“My office has already helped secure $250,000 in disability benefits for veterans in our district, but there is still more work to do,” Congresswoman Porter said. “I am excited to welcome a Wounded Warrior Fellow to our Irvine office, who will facilitate communication between government agencies and military and veteran constituents in the 45th District and assist us in getting our veterans and military personnel get the care and services they’ve earned.”

The program is limited to veterans who meet the following requirements:

  • Honorably discharged
  • Released from active duty within the last five years
  • Terminal pay grades at or below E-5 or O-3
  • 20% or greater service connected disabilities (waived if you have a Purple Heart)

Please note that veterans who are in receipt of a 20-year or Temporary Early Retirement Authorization (TERA) retirement are not eligible for this program.

Interested veterans should go to https://www.usajobs.gov/ and search “Wounded Warrior Fellowship Program” for more information and how to apply. They may also call Congresswoman Porter’s district office at 949-668-6600.
