Congresswoman Katie Porter is seeking talented high school and college students with community experience living in her district to participate in her six-month public service program.
As a student-driven board, each youth adviser is required to organize as a cohort and meet with the Congresswoman or her team at least once a month to discuss legislation on a wide variety of policy areas including infrastructure, gun violence prevention, homelessness, tax reform, foreign policy, and more.
At the end of each meeting, the Youth Advisory Board will compile a board report to make their legislative recommendations to the Congresswoman.
Meetings are regularly held on the last Friday of every month (unless stated otherwise). There are six officially-scheduled meetings per term. When applying, please ensure that you can commit to these dates:

The application for the seventh cohort is currently open and may be accessed here. The deadline to apply is Friday, December 1, 2022 no later than 11:59 PM PST. Qualified applicants with demonstrated experience supporting their local communities will be invited for an interview.
Due to the COVID-19 public health crisis, all meetings will be held virtually over Zoom unless stated otherwise.
