Today, Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA) released this statement regarding the Israel-Hamas war:

“Since Hamas’ October 7th terrorist attack, a humanitarian crisis has unfolded in Gaza, and I continue to join all those mourning the immense loss of Israeli and Palestinian lives. Before and during this conflict, I have been steadfast that military aid to any country must be used in accordance with U.S. laws and values, especially those on protecting civilians. I applaud the Biden Administration’s new announcement that Israel must take ‘immediate’ steps to safeguard civilians and aid workers in order to maintain U.S. support. I welcome ongoing conversations, facilitated by the United States, to reach the conditions for a ceasefire and durable peace in the region. We can all agree: the sooner this war ends, the better.”
